Brzeźno Beach in Gdansk — post-renovation pier guide, daily plan & access

The renovation of the pier in Brzeźno took a while, so if you were here a year or two ago, it’s worth knowing that it now looks different—new planks, reinforced structure, and a fresh lamp at the end of the walkway. It’s a good reason to return to Gdańsk’s closest beach, even if you’ve already seen it.

Molo after renovation

The work cost nearly 2.2 million zł and was completed on December 23, 2025. The entire wooden cladding was replaced with cedar planks, the steel piles were cleaned, the load-bearing frames were reinforced, and a new navigation light was installed at the end. The pier is 136 meters long and 7.2 meters wide—walking in either direction takes just a few minutes at a leisurely pace, longer if you stop to take photos at sunset when the light reflects off the water on both sides of the boardwalk.

The structure itself has changed little from its previous version—it’s still that same simple, narrow pier extending straight out from the shore into the sea, with no additional platforms or food vendors directly on the pier. The restaurants are on land, along the promenade.

Beach and 2026 Season

There are two guarded bathing areas in Brzeźno: one by the pier and another by Dom Zdrojowy — and they have different seasons. The pier site operates longer: from June 26 to August 30, 2026. The Dom Zdrojowy site is shorter: from July 1 to August 16, 2026. In both locations lifeguards are on duty between 9:45 AM and 5:15 PM. A white flag means swimming is allowed; a red flag indicates no entry into the water. Outside these hours — especially during early morning and evening walks when the beach is most beautiful — there’s no supervision of the water, so swimming is at your own risk.

Haffner Brzeźno Park

A short stretch from the beach, leading inland, is Haffner Brzeźno Park — a green space with benches and an outdoor exercise area. It’s a great spot for a break between sunbathing and strolling, especially with children who need to run around after an hour on the sand but not necessarily in the water.

Dom Zdrojowy and the Promenade

Dom Zdrojowy is a restored building that once housed public baths, now featuring a café on the ground floor — a convenient meeting point if your group splits up. Around the pier stretches a promenade lined with restaurants, cafés, and small shops, denser than at most other Gdańsk beaches. During peak season, tables fill quickly around lunchtime—so if you want a specific spot with a water view, arrive before 13:00 or wait until after 15:00.

Dog Beach

How to Get There

You can reach Brzeźno by tram lines 3 or 5, or buses 148 and 188 — the exact choice depends on which part of the city you’re starting from. If you’re staying at Seaside in Letnica, you have the shortest route among all Mint locations—Letnica and Brzeźno are close to each other along the same stretch of coastline, connected by a walking and cycling path. Half a Day in Brzeźno — How to Plan It

If you only have a few hours, not a full day:

1. Start with a walk along the promenade before it gets crowded—best before 10:00.
2. Spend one or two hours on the beach, during season on the guarded section.
3. Lunch on the promenade, ideally outside peak times (before 13:00 or after 15:00).
4. A short break in Haffner Park if time permits.

All of this fits comfortably into half a day, leaving you with time for something else—such as a stroll through the Main Town or an evening closer to your apartment.

Brzeźno Compared to Other Beaches

Brzeźno wins on accessibility and infrastructure but loses in crowd levels — during August weekends, it’s often the most crowded of all Gdańsk beaches.
